This is a work that I took from my own visual library of many works about wars, such as Farcry 6, a contrast of society led by a tyrant in his enormous armed palace.
I also took inspiration from fantasy and real war contexts from the Pact, Iraq, Libya, Syria, etc.
I did not do this work as some kind of criticism or to convey a message, my purposes are totally linked to invented narratives.
When I was a child I was always very attached to films and games of this genre.
By creating a base scenario, then combining it into objects, it was possible to use the Unreal Engine curve tool to modify the mesh and give the object a curved appearance.
Using Unreal's cropping tool I was able to do a cleaner job of positioning these dry leaves.
I add base decals from the quixel library to create a base visual aspect, so that I can get ideas throughout the process.
I use the quixel mixer to create a wet grass material to give volume and make the outdoor scene more lively, contrasting with the indoor environment.
With the base of the scenario ready, I start looking for explicit narratives within the environment.
Refining some details of the scene.
I add some points of light to reinforce the composition and not leave the drama of the scene in the hands of the shadows.
And then I reinforce the composition with color and light control, using post process volume.
